A Teddy Bear Story: Advertising 101, I Hate Steven Singer, on the
corner or Walnut and 8th.
If anyone listens to the
radio as much as I do, then you probably heard of Steven Singer Jewelers, on
the corner of Walnut and 8th in Philadelphia. If anyone has Sirius radio, and listens to
Howard Stern, you can hear his ads all year long, especially during Valentine’s
Day. His website is
www.ihatestevensinger.com
What I love about his ads,
are that they are almost exactly like the old Teddy Bear ads.
He advertises that the gift you buy comes with a
personalized message. The teddy bear company used to hand write
all our messages on nice cards in
calligraphy. Those who worked in
the Calligraphy Dept. were artists. Even
after we stopped hand writing the messages, we still advertised using the word personal.
He gives his address in Philadelphia, because it makes
him real and you can actually visit his
only place. At the Teddy bear company we
always said our bears were made in
Vermont, and we gave our address in our ads saving, we not hard to find, we are located between New Hampshire
and New York, and people did visit
us from all over the world.
Steven Springer advertises all holidays, just like we
used to.
He uses Stern because Stern is the best when it comes to
making the phone ring.
What is Kool about his advertising is it works, just like
our old ads a long time ago.
Imitation is the greatest
form of flattery. Our marketing Dept. who
created our ads was the best.
